Envisioned as a place for all college students to feel accepted and loved by God, Derrick became Founder and Presiding Pastor of United Ministries on the campus of UNC-P {University of North Carolina at Pembroke} in 2003. It was originally an off-campus organization, but as the ministry grew, the college requested that United Ministries become an active campus group.

The Holy Spirit had planted a seed and four years later the same vision was revised. It became United Ministries in Christ. In Christ added in response to the question of how ALL have access to Heaven. {Matt. 12:7} A revelation that any man who believes Jesus Christ is the answer and the way of escape created to set the captive free and allow communication with God. Jesus Christ IS the access to Heaven for all who believe.

In September of 2009, United Ministries in Christ began meeting for Wednesday night Bible studies . The very first Bible study began with a small group of eight. By the church opening on June 6, 2010, that group of eight had grown to 20 active individuals sewing there time, energy, homes, vehicles, and tithes into the ministry.

United Ministries in Christ is founded 1st & foremost on God's LOVE & the following principles:

1.) Community Service

2.) Unconditional Love

3.) Personal Discovery

4.) Self Growth

We realize Christ exemplified those principles in a manner no otherman could; therefore, we desire to follow His path with open hearts and minds.
